Her Majesty's Government and 23Red commissioned Silea to develop a mental health awareness campaign for the Environment Agency, specifically highlighting fishing's therapeutic benefits for psychological wellbeing.
The campaign targeted diverse audiences through Environment Agency social media channels, precision digital advertising, and high-traffic London station placements, ensuring maximum visibility for this important public health message.
Silea's creative approach began with hand-drawn illustrations that captured the meditative, restorative qualities of angling. These organic sketches were then transformed into precise vector files through Illustrator before receiving final refinement through Photoshop and Procreate applications that added nuanced textural details and atmospheric depth.
The illustration style deliberately emphasised the tranquil, contemplative nature of fishing while maintaining accessibility for broad demographic appeal. Each piece reinforced the campaign's core message: that outdoor activities like fishing provide measurable mental health benefits through connection with nature and mindful practice.
This government initiative demonstrates how strategic design partnerships can effectively communicate complex public health messaging, transforming policy objectives into visually compelling narratives that resonate with diverse communities across urban environments.
